Ghana’s new Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Her Excellency Ms. Sophia Horner-Sam presented her Letters of Credence to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the Royal Palace in The Hague, on Wednesday 25th October, 2017.

At exactly 11.00hrs, the Ambassador was received by a Royal Chamberlain to His Majesty the King and escorted in two Royal carriages to the palace. Her Excellency was accompanied by four of her staff, who rode in the second carriage.

The Ambassador and her staff were dressed in the colourful Ghanaian Kente cloth. There was a guard of honour mounted in the Ambassador’s at the “Paleis Noordeinde” consisting of a guard commander and two detachments provided by the Royal Netherlands Air Force base Gilze-Rijen. After a salute of four drum rolls the Ghana National Anthem was played, followed with an inspection of the guard of honour by Her Excellency, Ms. Sophia Horner-Sam.

After the inspection, Her Excellency and her entourage were led into the Royal Chamber to sign the Royal Guest Book, followed by the presentation of the Letter of Credence to His Majesty King Willem-Alexander. After presenting her Credentials to His Majesty the King, the Ambassador and the  King held a 20minutes private conversation on Ghana Netherlands relations, after which Her Excellency emerged from the Royal Chamber flanked by members of her staff to the waiting Royal Horse-drawn carriages guided by the King's Chamberlain.

They departed the King's Palace and were escorted back to the Embassy.
